Can my bluetooth play my phones music?

I understand that not all bluetooths can do this. I have yet to find a way to do this and it seems like I might not be able to. The thing that makes me question it is that the music will play in my bluetooth when I'm on a call but start playing it through my speakers when the call is over. Htc inspire 4g and 390 plantronics bluetooth. Thanks in advance
