A combination of being brainwashed by parents and not getting a proper education.

I love science. I study it as much as I can. I have invested fairly heavily into a science hobby, astronomy.

But I've studied biology and Darwinism enough to know that there are a lot of holes in the theory. I won't outline them here, because I don't have room to address them individually, and most people won't bother to read them anyway before giving me the thumb. Look here, and watch this movie: http://www.expelledthemovie.com

The point is that you're completely off base in thinking that religious people "just deny" evolution and other science. We take issue with bad science, and we completely accept good science.

Darwinists have no other option; they have to cling to the theory of evolution for all its worth, warts and holes and all. Christians have other options.

With religion you can have the unbeatable sensation of knowing the secrets to the universe without an ounce of thought or research.

I believe in both science and religion. I have a lot of respect for scientific thought and the scientific method. However, the framework for my beliefs about things science has not or can not answer comes from Christianity.

I also have a B.S. degree in Mathematics. Thinking of God as a mathematician and the universe as the explosion of an incredibly complex fractal helps to marry my two belief systems.
