So, recently I switched over to Linux using Xubuntu (xfce) after windows gave me so much problems, and after a week all I can say is it's awesome....why do I even bother with windows. Anyway I hear that Linuxes don't really get viruses because not a lot of people use them and windows-made-viruses can't affect linux. But I want to know what are my chances of getting a virus when downloading from torrents, which leaves you very vulnerable to viruses.

Thanks for your inputs guys & gals.

Your chances of getting a virus are very, very tiny. Installing Linux is like giving your computer a super condom and a vat of penicillin - there's almost no chance of getting a virus and if you do, you'll be rid of it very quickly.

there are infections out there for ubuntu, just not as many, you can still get torrent infections, pending where your downloading from?
