Can you record gameplay from a console using a Rogers HD Pvr?

Hey guys, my parents recently bought an hd tv with a Rogers hd pvr box. I was wondering whether I would be able to use the HD PVR to record video game gameplay from an xbox 360 and then transfer it to my computer. Or record it directly onto my computer, much like a hauppage hd pvr. If so, how would i do this?
And if my xbox 360 does not have an hdmi output, will the recording still be in hd? or better quality than a standard defination dazzle? thanks!

They say it can be done yet you are going to need a tower if you want some good video capturing you need to get a HDMI PCI Express Card. Or get a Blackmagic Shuttle yet it needs a USB 3 port and a really good laptop to capture the video feed.
