I've tried using Cd-R's (since I have a million of them) but they don't work. Will a Cd-Rw disc work or does it have to be an actual DVD disc?

u cannot use cd/cd-rw....in windows dvd maker directly....only dvd/dvd-+rw

u hav another option...

save movie as a file...

and write it with any other cd/cd-rw burning software...here u can use cd/cd-rw if the file not exceeds 700MB

If you are making a DVD, then yes, you will need an actual DVD to burn. However, let me tell you the difference. CD-R (CD-Rom) is a disk that can usually only be used once (as in burning). Once the content has been burned into the disk, you can only add, update, and view the disk. CD-RW (CD-Rom Rewritable) these disks can be rewritten. They can be viewed and files can be added, deleted, and modified. Hope this clears up any more questions.
