Can you use sony ericsson mps-70 speakers for an ipod?

I want to find out if it is possible to buy some sort of a jack adapter for the speakers so i can play music using an ipod. If you can't then is it possible to cut the sony ericsson adapter plug off the speakers and re wire the speakers to a jack cable outlet.
