Cannot download LoL because my university blocks torrents?

The university I live in blocks torrents so when i start the download exe, it disconnects me from the internet. I had the same problem with Champions online, but i could download it through steam just fine. Is there a way around this at all? It kinda sucks. Any other games you can suggest if this one doesn't work?
the launcher downloads the game through torrent ports. The network sees it as a torrent and shuts me off.
 
LoL isn't a torrent. I don't know where you're downloading it from. Try downloading the launcher and install it from there.
 
i understand your problem, but im afraid i have not (despite extensive searching) found a solution. best i can suggest is to get someone who isnt on campus to download it for you then upload it to something like filedropper and redownload it directly
