Cell Phone Blocked Question?

I was just wondering.. If you got a cellphone, changed the sim, and then it go reported stolen. If the phone got reported stolen and they told the phone company the IMEI# or somthing like that, would the phone still be blocked even though it's not under the same number it was previously?

I suppose the answer is yes, but unless you were to change the sim-card, it would then be unblocked!!!

It depends on how the company blocks the phone- for example, Verizon doesn't have SIM cards to block the individual SIM; they would probably have to block by IMEI number or some other identifying account information.

If the provider blocks by IMEI, then it won't matter what goes into the phone, it won't work. If they only block the SIM, then putting a different one in would give service.
