Ever since I read Harry potter and the deathly hallows, I felt as if I have read a children's story in my childhood which was very similar to "The Tales of the beedle bard". This is as much I can remember from it
Three brothers were going on a journey. They came across a lake and from it a magical person appeared (may be a death itself I can't remember) and then he gave each brother a wish, first brother asked for a sword or something and the rest.. I can not remember I only remember each one of the brothers were giving something.
and in the end like in the tales of the beedle bard the youngest brother was the one was able to be alive until he died a natural death.
I might be a Japanese children's story as I grew up with a lot of picture books handed down from my brother was in Japan when he was small. I still can remember some of the pictures, although I can't remember the story exactly. Does anyone know what this children's story is.. Could you point out a site where this is written down so that I can refresh my memory.
