It cannot be vague, a close call or unintentional. It must be exact or near exact.
You guys are completely missing the point. You're using bible evidence to point out more things that were only mentioned in the Bible. You're not giving me anything I've actually seen, or have knowledge of beyond the Bible.
Also, I want to hear the exact verse, too, not just be linked to The Watchtower.

There was famines, wars, and earthquakes far before the Bible was created...
 
I could give you about a hundred, but the creation of the nation of Israel in the 40's is one.

P.S. "You're not giving me I've actually seen". You do realize that history has been around longer than you have on this earth? You've gotten lots of good answers. I hope you don't swat all of them away.......
 
Isaiah 44-45 foretells of King Cyrus by name, liberating Israel from Babylonian slavery by conquering the city of Babylon. They did this by draining the river used as a moat around the city into a reservoir. This is exactly what happened as it happened.

Big deal? Yes, once you consider we know exactly when Isaiah wrote this. We also know when Babylon was defeated.

Isaiah wrote the book 200 years before Cyrus was born a thousand miles away in another country. Israel, at the time of writing, had never been beaten by anyone. Babylon had never attacked them. The reservoir had not even been planned or thought of. Their river moat had prevented anyone from conquering them.

Yet, everything happened just as Isaiah prophesied over 200 years before in every single detail. Such detail is not possible from any other source.
 
Daniel 11:4 specifically refers to Alexander the Great. the following verses specifically describes what happened to the Hellenistic civilization. Read the wikipedia entry for Alexander the great and what his 4 sons did, and then read Daniel 11. the prophecy is frightening considering this was written hundreds of years prior t the events.


that is just one example there are many, many others. By the way...I really don't think your going to do the work. You probably will just look for an atheistic website that refutes this as prophecy. sad, sad.

Why don't you read the Bible? Most of them have already happened! If you watch "Encounters With The Unexplained, Biblical End Times" you can see lots of them. But there is tons more that there was Not enough room for. Or check out www.grizzlyadams.com for tons of proof.

Daniel Chapter 8 is a very specific prophecy concerning the rise and fall of The Empire of Alexander the Great. It's accuracy cannot be disputed. It is neither vague nor a "close call".

In fact, the prophecy refers to the "king of Greece", but it was made before Greece even HAD a king, at a time when the concept of a "King of Greece" would have seemed absurd.

The prophecy was given 250 years before Alexander was born.

Daniel is full of fulfilled prophecies, but one has to know something about HISTORY in order to be able to see them.

If you are familiar with the history of the Babylonian, Persian, and Alexandrian Empires, you will be able to see and understand many of the fulfilled prophecies on your own. Some of Daniel's prophecies are also about the Roman Empire.

Another good example is the prophecies concerning King Cyrus in Isaiah 44:28- 45:13. In these prophecies, Cyrus is mentioned BY NAME. There is nothing vague about that.

And yet, these prophecies were given decades before Cyrus was born, and approximately 150 years before Cyrus came to the throne.

An extensive list of fulfilled prophecies in the Bible would exceed Yahoo's limits on the length of an answer.
 
You might want to consider that fulfillment of prophecy is indeed proof that scripture is true and accurate. How better to prove prophecy fulfillment than by using scripture itself?

When Daniel interpreted Nebuchadnezzar's dream, he foretold the remaining empires that would come - Mede-Persia, Greece, Rome, and the final empire which some call the revived Holy Roman empire. He foretold Alexander The Great in his vision of the male goat that overcame the two-horned ram (Greece conquering Mede-Persia). He described the final kingdom that would be on earth in the last days - this is the empire we see being set up now, a global empire with world-scope authority (think UN, EU, etc....). Along the same lines, John foretold a global religion in the same days (last days) which we see being set up now with the push toward syncretism.
