Thinking of getting one, but have never owned a citroen.
Just wondering if anyone can give me a honest opinion on them.
Are they reliable, good motors?
Is six grand a good price for a 2008 with 49000 on the clock?
What about average repair prices and so on???

Hi well Citroen are the worlds leader in car design a suspension system like no other. and a one spoke steering wheel are it's trade marks when they are new wonderful cars. As they get older the tend to go wrong a lot at about 50k miles so i would leave well alone only Citroen can fix there cars right.
so it is not a case of taking it to just any car repair person.
special diagnostics now and expensive parts not interchangeable with any other make like Peugeot and Renault.
the Citroen tends to be full of little gadgets which do seem to age quickly even when they are just out of warranty.
So unless you have a second car to rely on leave well alone.
this is why they are so cheap second hand as a car of the same quality when new holds it's value where a Citroen does not.

Short answer, no.
French cars are at their best when basic and simple. When they start loading them up with massively complicated Diesel engines, automatic gearboxes and lots of electric toys they have all sorts of problems.

If you insist on buying one, don't buy this one, £6k is WAY overpriced.
