Convert DivX movie file to normal DVD?

I use Nero 9 Smart Start to burn Divx movies which are ok for my Divx Video player. However my friend cannot play those discs on his normal DVD player. How then can I convert the divx files to play on his dvd machine.

I did use "Any Video Converter" and converted the video to Pal mpeg but there was no sound and the picture was enlarged so that characters were too tall on the tv screen. In other words I haven't a clue what I am doing.

sounds like ur friends dvd player doesn`t accept divx,u would have 2 use the create and burn tab 2 make it dvd format on nero 9 and make a dvd movie,but also check that ur friends dvd player can play dvd-r \ +r discs,but convertxtodvd is the best and easiest 1 2 use,that will convert and burn it 2 disc for u

If you have Nero, and Nero vision installed on your system. Then use Nero vision to convert the video to mpeg-2 (dvd format),.

Select make DVD > DVD video > add files > Edit menu - if you want to add chapters, etc... you can also select do not create menu > Next (preview screen) > then select drive to burn to.

Nero vision will convert the movie file to dvd format.
