Cung Le just lost to Scott Smith. Of course good job for Smith. He showed heart, perseverance, focus and all the things you'd expect of a good fighter. So he was rewarded with a victory tonight.

Also, it's obvious Le isn't taking his MMA career seriously. In many ways, he's turned into Frank Shamrock: that is, he's more interested in entertaining than he is winning. Le lost to Smith for the same reason Shamrock lost to Le, he fooled around too much, got arrogant, and never turned up the intensity to finish off the fight.

Here are my reasons for believing Le is doing a half-a-s job with his MMA career:

1) the most obvious reason, he prefers making movies full time while fighting mma spare-time (like a hobby)
2) he REFUSES to use submissions on grounded opponents or he REFUSES to learn submissions. (maybe he's too proud to learn some basic arm bars)
3) he shows up to fights with poor cardio
4) too many flashy kicks. A few fancy kicks are ok to keep your opponent off balance and honest. But really, he should save his energy for "kicks-that-matter".
5) just letting fights go on for longer than they need to. Pull an armbar already...

Do you guys agree?
