difference between show coat and hunt coat**10PTS**?

Just wondering what the difference is. I'm assuming the hunt coat is for hunter under saddle? I do hunter under saddle but I buy all my stuff used, but I found a great deal on a new one. Can I use a show coat for hunter under saddle? I know schooling shows don't matter but what about a C circuit or B circuit?

A hunt coat and a show coat are the same thing. They were originally dubbed "hunt coats" because men wore them when they went hunting, but nowadays English riders wear them at shows, which is where their second name of "show coats" came from.
