DivX Web player help?

Please help, just yesterday I updated my DivX web player to the latest version and now the video wont play at all, no sound or video. I keep getting this error message " This file contains a track in an unknown format. You may need to install a Direct Show decoder for this video format in order to play this file".
I already try uninstalling it and installing it again various times and nothing works, the previous version worked just fine for me but now I can't go back to it. The version I had was DivX setup 1.0.1.5 and the new version I downloaded is DivX setup 2.6.1.3 , I have windows 7. Any help to make the web player work again will be appreciated. Thanks
 
The newer versions of divx webplayer is still buggy.
First uninstall Divx Web player 2.X.X (you need to uninstall only the webplayer)
install this older version : http://download.divx.com/divx/oldversions/DivXWebPlayerInstallerv15.exe
When install starts uncheck all except Divx webplayer.
reboot
Upgrade message will pop up, say No, keep using the older version
You can right click,click Preferences, auto update Once a month
It should work
