Do I still get a free month of World of Warcraft if I use a guest pass?

I bought World of Warcraft today and on the box it says that I get a free month with the purchase. My friend sent me a guest pass too, which means that I get 10 days to play for free along with some leveling bonuses. So am I able to use that guest pass and get my free month for a total of 40 days free?
