It’s not a case of whether or not you do bad things but whether or not you continue to unashamedly do bad things. Everybody has done things they’re not proud of but they feel guilt and shame over these things, and they usually don’t do them again. But people like the phreaky Phelps continue to do bad things again and again with no shame. It’s not just the phreaky Phelps, though; I could argue that Catholics, by supporting such a corrupt, hierarchical and tyrannical organization responsible for centuries of crimes against humanity, are unashamedly doing a bad thing. Unless they’re all sociopaths; maybe the brainwashing has turned them into sociopaths who just can’t see the harm they cause to other people and just can’t see the evil in their religious organization?
