Do you find people treat the victims of bullying like a joke?

I just read somebody say that bullies pick on emo kids and then emo kids come back to school with a gun, and it was said like a joke. I think that it is really strange to feel contempt for people who are going through emotional abuse, and then degrade them and slander them by accusing them of being homicidal, even though very very few of them ever go on any sort of shooting spree. I was personally bullied when I was growing up and I never even did anything to deserve it, so I don't really get why there would be some sort of contempt for people who haven't even done anything wrong.

I think it is funny when the bully doesnt realize how this bullying of his/her's will someday come back and haunt them with one way or another. I take this very seriously i believe bullying is totally wrong because the bullies dont really know how badly they hurt people when they pick on them, they either dont realize how badly being bullied by another hurts, or they just dont care about the other persons feelings. I myself have been bullied in my middle school years, especially in the 6th grade, i would get picked on for being extremely skinny, with no curves, and no boobs. But that right there wasnt my fault i couldnt help the fact that i wasnt developing quickly like the other girls were. And i also was a good target to pick on because i would do nothing about it so they continued untill i got older and started to defend myself more. I got picked on by both guys and girls. Some people are just ignorant and they only think about themselves and they are probably not in control somewhere so they try to find someone they can control and when they find that person they know that is easy to pick on they will continue to do so until they realize that they are messing with the wrong person. And im sorry about you being bullied, your not alone i had the same problem, everyone gets bullied atleast once in their life. Good luck ( :

some people do i definitely don't though i think bullying is a serious problem in schools.

edit: luseal he's not calling people who are picked on emos he's saying what someone else said in another answer in the question "are stereotypical bullies extinct" or something along those lines. no one is making fun of your clique in school..

First off, emo stands for emotional. We all have emotions so we might as well all be emo. Anyone can be a victim of bullying, not just "emos". & no it's defintely not a topic that's taken seriously.

Yes I do and I must say that bullying is no joke. There is no reason why somebody cant go to school and get an education without having to be bullied or go about in public and worry about being bullied and harrassed. As far as phyiscal bullying is concerned, physically violating anybody is criminal and assault and should be dealt with as such. Perhaps since bullies nowadays as think they're so grown and tough, as well as commit criminal actions they need to be dealth with in such a manner such as throwing them in jail and seeing how it is to get bullied and harrassed.
Schools especially deal with it in a horrible manner. Alot of time they tend to be biast with most cases. If a guy bullies a girl or w.e. its like commiting murder but if its two males then its just a joke. They should all be dealt without prejudice. A crime is a crime.
