Judo always seems like a novety in MMA to me. People never come out and say, "hey Judo sucks in MMA," but, they dont' train in it much at all for serious MMA. The ones that use Judo primarily are those that started in Judo not MMA fighters who are looking to add more to their aresenal.

What do you think? Is Judo good in MMA? Why or why not?

A lot of no gi techniques in Judo are found in BJJ and wrestling. Since people do not wear gis or belts, it would be pointless to study techniques that rely on them. All the Judo submissions and groundwork are already found in MMA.

Here are some Judo throws seen in wrestling and MMA
Kata Garuma (fireman's carry)
Ippon Seoi Nage (shoulder throw)
Morote Gari (double leg takedown)
KibisuGgaeshi (wizzer)
Daki Age (slam)
Ura nage (suplex)
Kuchiki Taoshi (single leg takedown)

Think of Judo as BJJ with better stand up but no leg locks, with Judo you don't need a dominant clinch position to throw, so more versatile than wrestling and despite having fewer submissions, we tend to be very good at one or two that we favour, some beasty armlocks on Judo BB's

from what I know some decorated Judoka that went MMA are often destroyed by strikers, wrestlers, jiujitsu guys etc. basically Judo sucks in MMA wrestling is the best for mma because u can dictate where the fight takes place, either standing up or doin' it on the ground...

and very few judokas had sucess in MMA... they don't say it much but Judo really sucks in MMA, some even say Sumo is better for MMA than Judo watch Machida the former ufc champ.. no fighter can take him down bcuz of his superior Sumo skills
