...so rich? I'm not saying they shouldn't be rich but why do they need hundreds of millions of dollars when they obviously don't even spend all of it? Especially sports stars who are on for example, a 7-year $200 million contract, why do they even need all that extra money?

i think the economy would be in an even bigger mess if celebrities weren't rich. They fuel our economy. The economy is based on consumerism, or the buying, or consumption, of goods. You dont see that fat illegal mexican driving a lambo or porsche, or decking his mansion with all the lavish furniture, you see the celebrities. By raising their taxes, we are not helping but instead hurting the economy

NO! The mess you're talking about has nothing to do with celebrities. Life is not all about celebrities. Mtv is about celebrities, E! is about celebrities, but the federal reserve, Lehman Brothers, Citigroup, Chrysler, General Motors, real estate prices HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BRAD PITT AND JOLIE!

Actually, now as i'm thinking about it.. Maybe, just maybe, it has something to do with it.. It's only if all the major CEOs and heads of government authorities think the way YOU think, then yeah, i can say maybe that their low IQs made that happen!!

Celebrities actually help the economy. People spend money to buy those silly celebrity magazines, which sell advertisements to other companies, etc. Sports stars bring in fans who pay for tickets, beer, parking, gasoline, food, merchandise, etc. And if movie producers or sports teams are willing to pay these high salaries, then the celebrities are worth it. A person or thing is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

What they choose to do with all their money is up to them, unless you think communism is a good thing.
