do zune marketplace gift cards work the same as itunes gift cards?

i have a zune, and i was wondering if it was the same as an itunes card, like you buy the card put in the code and then buy songs and other media until your credit runs out? and do you get to keep the songs after your credit runs out? i DO NOT want a zune pass. thanks for your help. :)
 
If you buy Zune credits then you purchase the songs with the credits and they are yours to keep forever,if you buy a Zune pass you pay $15 a month for unlimited songs and as long as you keep paying you get to keep the songs and every month you also get 10 credits which means you get to keep 10 songs forever and even when you stop paying for Zune pass you keep them.
