No, Blu-rays, like DVDs, have region codes. They are Region A for USA, Region B for Europe and so on. Your European PS3 won't have the ability to play a Region A Blu-ray disc, unless you do some genius things to the data inside and "crack" it.
NO unless it is ABC, which means ALL regions. Europe is Region B. Region A is U.S., Hong Kong, Taiwan, Canada and Central and South America. Someone here on Yahoo Answers answered a question, saying the industry have come to an agreement and start making all Blu-Rays Region Free which is ABC. I don't know is that true now, and have not yet done a search online to find out is it true or what.
