Does anyone else have trouble with VLC media player and the Dragonball Torrent?

Ok so as I said I have VLC media player and I have been watching Dragonball Z. I have noticed lately a lot, it freezes and skips and even crashes. Its happening so often i hardly get through 1 episode. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with the same torrent. It is the dragonball + Z + GT torrent with all the movies as well. I have tried all the help sites and blog sites with recommendations but nothing seems to work. Can anyone help me.
