I would find a topic that interests you. If you have a difficult friend or relative, is there a subject you usually argue about most? The best speech I ever gave in my persuasion class was on movies, because it's something I love to talk about anyways. Just find something you're passionate about and create a problem to argue. Once you have a problem you can then try to convince people to be on your side.
