Does better nutrition make people taller within a single generation?

I remember my church brought in a whole pack of asians - from Laos or something and the older people were short - 4 feet tall. But their kids, who were born in Laos (or maybe it was cambodia) but mostly grew up in the U.S. are normal height! Some of the boys are like almost 6 feet tall now.
 
Absolutely, poor nutrition stunts an individuals growth immensely, which is why if you notice, height in the United States (and the rest of the world) has dramatically increased from just 60 years ago due to drastically improved nutrition.
 
Yes genetics take up about 70% of your overall height, which leaves about 30% that depends upon the living factors of the person. 4 feet to 6 feet is indeed possible in certain cases
