Does it matter what year your clothes from, and do we have to always wear

"current items only" to be in style? I never understood this. SOme of the things that are in style in February and will cost a fortune will be out and away by November, and cost little to nothing. However, throughout the years as we buy clothes, shoes, whateve,r and it piles up, doesn't that stuff eventually end up being worthless and disposable anyways, or will people not really be able to tell, and there are garments that last and are more timeless?

I'm more with the school of thought "if it looks good on you and makes you look good, keep it, "

why throw something away just because it becomes "out of season" for that particular store?

But I also don't want to be walking around having people laugh and think I'm wearing things that are just..."over."

Can people generally tell these things?

I am self conscious about it.

It depends on how you feel in your clothes!
But actually, I don't really worry that much about style. Honestly, some of what is in style right now is the fact that people don't completely care about it.
If I think something looks good I get it especially if it looks good on me. If you really want to know what the people in New York and fashion icons are wearing look at InStyle magazine. I bet you already wear some of it but for the most part you really don't need to be that "in".

And also, older things are in for the most part. Like I love getting some cute things that are now back in style at thrift stores and they're only like 5$ each depending on where you go.

I bet most of my clothes are out of style, but I feel cute in them. I usually look at how other people wear things and see how I can copy that. It works pretty well.

Like for example, I waited almost a year before I bought my first pair of skinny jeans because I didn't want to buy them and then have no one wear them anymore. There was a trend at one point to wear those gaucho pants, the ones that looked like mid-length skirts except sewn up the middle. They are terrible. Things like that. If they don't flatter you and if they are super trendy wait to see if they go away.

If something gets really big really fast, that doesn't always mean buy it right away. Look to see what people are wearing that you like, and then if you see it while you're shopping try it on and if it looks good and doesn't cost a lot buy it.

Go to forever 21, they have cheap cute clothes that you can decide if you like or not, because some are just awful to me but really cute to others.

It's whatever you feel looks good on you, and you being confident that makes something look good to other people.

Best answer ever?! :) good luck

If you think that people will laugh at you when you try on your attire....then no do not wear it. Take you favorite color and incorporate that in your manner of style. You do need the basics: black pressed slacks, long-sleeved white shirt, black leather Italian loafers. You choose what you want but the more important question is will you wear it 5 years from now.
