Does it really matter about the brand of a in-dash dvd player?

I mean come on people don't even give the other brands a chance i've heard of seniority but just because it's not heard of doesn't mean it's not good.

Sure it matters. I mean think about it. If you buy a cheap player its made from cheaper metals/plastics/wiring and thus is more likely to break apart of burn up.

Higher quality systems, the ones you call "seniority" are better. They use better grade materials and are designed so they will take beating and abuse.
