Does java applications run on nokia N73 phone?

I'm using Nokia N73-1 music edition phone.and I think it doesn't support the java applications .Whenever I download any java application from the internet,,,e.g. Opera Mini ,,,,,it has two types of files having extensions as .jad and .jar.But when I try to install them on my phone..... the installations fails.....
What to do????.... Please help out.......
