Specifically, are there any bibliographic citations from ANY literature from ANY religion that demonstrate, encourage, or give examples of willful separation from society, family, friends or non-members.

Absolutely.In fact contrary to the teachings in many churches,separation from society is one of the most important themes in the Bible.

Sad but true
For the genuine small percentage of religious people who demonstrate tolerance they are often lost in the mass of religious people who are judgements,
As a Christian I'm sick and tired of Christians or other religious people judging who is a sinner or going to hell...they would be better served sticking to their own beliefs and and living their lives and allowing others to do the same
If you found god or had an awakening good for you, that's great, it doesn't mean you need to try and convert others to your new found spirituality..

Ever heard of strength in numbers?
Evil separates and makes religions to keep the strength in numbers down so there is less strength in a religion/belief system. With just 2 religions there would be great numbers of each (if all believers were put into just 2 religions). With such numbers and only 2 religions to choose from non believers would be more apt to learn about both or one of them.
But division does the opposite. Non believers see this and see so many religions (divisions caused by evil) and wonder if any are right and with so many are not willing to learn any of them. So the more division the weaker religions are in bringing new members, this is why evil does it.

divide, conquer, murder, this is always the divisions of devils and devil worshippers.
i can give you many quotations from scriptures. its always good to apostate from a false religion. it is not good to cause the contention of men because the spirit of contention is of the devil.
however to contend for the faith and for the truth, is good when people listen and repent of their sins
