My sister and I want to make my puppy Lili a birthday cake but we don't want to have to make 2 cakes (one for people one for dogs) Can anyone give me a recipe? Also Can I give Lili a birthday cake even shes turning 1. Thanks!

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup white or whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup shredded carrots
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup honey
1 egg

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)
Mix together flour and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a ring mold sprayed with a nonstick spray for 40 minutes.
Frost this cake with low fat cottage cheese and decorate with carrot pieces. Store in refrigerator.

NOTES:
you can do a little changes about carrots put in another vegetebles.. BUT for any reasons add chocolate! NEVER! thats a powerfull and not healthy thing for Dogs!

Any cake recipe would be okay for a dog as long as it doesn't have chocolate in it. I'd recommend not using more than 3/4 cup of sugar for the cake (you can reduce the amount of sugar in any recipe to make it less sweet) and also do not ice the cake.

You could consider making cupcakes for everyone so that you could leave the frosting off the dogs, but frost the people ones.

Personally I don't think it's the best idea to give a dog cake, I don't feed my dogs anything other than dog food and raw veggies/meaty bones. Dogs don't digest wheat products very well, like flour, and sugar isn't great for them so she might vomit if you give her cake.

Why don't you make a cake for all of the people, and make a "meat cupcake" for the puppy? You could press some lean ground hamburg or ground turkey mixed with veggies like carrot, broccoli and rice into a cupcake tin and bake it at 350 for about 20 minutes. Just an idea!

Sugar and salt are not ingredients that dogs can have, so any treats for the dog are going to be unpalatable to the human guests. Make the dogs some peanut butter-oatmeal dog biscuits flavored with beef or chicken broth, and bake a cake for the human guests,
