Downloaded .avi movie torrent. Tried to play on quicktime, divx player, and VLC?

VLC should have helped u............I think u must try out that video in another computer to know whether it's corrupt.
 
Try GOM its great....but VLC should definitely play *.avi
may be somthing wrong with the file check it out...
