I completely re-formatted my PC weeks ago because I had 7 Rootkits on it, but now my DVD burner/drive is extremely slow and sometimes even takes up to 10 minutes to just get onto the internet or open a program, I check the D Drive for any kind of virus and it came up with nothing, I downloaded the latest drivers for it and did a disc clean up for it and it's slow like a turtle, however if I open up the tower and pull out of it cables whilst in "slow" mode everything runs smooth! I also tried to de-frag the D drive but it's slowness prevents my from trying.
I'm really lost, I don't know what to now...should I just buy a new burner or can it be fixed.
