--PERSONAL HOLIDAY:
The holidays are usually memorable times for us; times in which we often define our family memories by. For example, my family has its own personal holiday called "Woodcutting" that takes place every summer. All the family members come together for a week at my grandmother's house to cut wood, literally. Sounds wierd, right? But when winter comes and our fireplaces and wood stacks are full of cut wood, it makes a lot more sense. All of the males in the family (and some of the women, too) go out into the forrest and chop down trees, split the trunks, and cut the wood into "fireplace" ready logs. When my cousins and I were young, we'd take some of the logs and stumps, stack them and make forts out of them. We'd have tunnels and rooms all made out of stacking the logs...it was lots of fun. Every year our family made a photo album of that particular "Woodcutting" holiday. Which we are very grateful for now, because in recent years we have stopped getting together for Woodcutting due to prevelance of gas burning fireplaces...I really miss those days...in fact, it wasn't until I was about 10 years old did I realize that "Woodcutting" wasn't a real holiday. I thought everyone did this at the same time we did each summer.
Anyway, good luck...and have fun with it!
