Yesterday, went to turn on the fan in my Yukon Denali and got nothing. It hasn't worked since. I've tried every button, turning the thing on and off, alternating temperatures and using/not using air conditioning. Nothing brings the fan to life. There's just a very light breeze coming through the vent, seemingly the normal air flow that would be there even if the system wasn't on. The temperature of the car will change over time and the air conditioning eventually cools the car down, but the fan to blow the air in doesn't come to life.

Is it as simple as having the fan for the system die? Could it be a blown fuse? What am I looking for on cost of repairs? Would like to know as much as possible before I go in to get this thing fixed. Thanks in advance for any help.

ck fuse, but the fan is cheap and held on inside your engine compartment on the firewall with 3 bolts, take it with you because the squirrel cage doesn't go with the new one and there is a core charge, very easy to change. You don't even have to get under the dash. Most auto parts stores have them in stock, and get the rebuilt one, they have a year warrenty and only about 40 bucks.

Could be the fan motor has died itself, could be as simple as a fuse. Check that first, since $5 gets your fan going and gives you like four extra fuses for next time.

As for cost on a new fan motor, get Googling - you didn't tell us what year your ride is so there are questions only you can answer. But it isn't too big a deal to replace yourself, simple hand tools and a warm afternoon gets the job done. Fire up the Flashback Weekend radio and go nuts.
