I have an older Actiontec 56k modem that I need to replace. Can someone recommend a brand and/or a place where I can purchase one? I live in SoCal, and I'm thinking that Fry's may carry them. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
If you need to get a new one go to Fry's. They carry everything at good prices. If you are willing to buy one off of Ebay you may save a fw dollars but is it worth it? That is up to you. The good thing about Frys is if it does not work you can return it.
I would try to find a US Robotics modem but all of them (any brand) should work. The interesting thing is if you have a USB port on your computer you can go with a USB modem which would mean you do not have to open your computer and you can move it from computer to computer.
