I am in dire need of getting back in shape post-injury. I have not been to the gym in quite a while as this is where I prefer to stay active. However, I am in school most of the day and that greatly hinders my having an intense routine. I was wondering if there were any routines that I could do in order to really kick my body back into shape that take an hour or less. Also, will cardio or weight training help with this more?

Aerobic training can help you lose fat.
Weight training will help you to gain some muscle.
If you don't have time to go to the gym you can also exercise at home - There are several PC/video "games" for workouts, which you can really customize to what you want to do. The only one I've tried is Respondesign's Yourself:Fitness, but there are others too and I'm sure they're just as helpful.
Basically, they let you choose the type of training (cardio, weight-loss, upper body strength, core, etc.), duration, music, additional equipment (ball, hand-weights, step etc.) and difficulty, and it follows your progress and adjust its difficulty accordingly.
