well i have a 1991 vw 2.0 16v gti and it runs and drives but it needs some love to get back on the road. It has about 120k on it and it can be a good daily driver but it an old car. I has a new head gasket water pump, timing belt ,and tune up among other things . I did all the work my self and put a lot of time into it.

now i am working full time and have no bills had to move back home it a long story let say the person on the rental lease agreement moved out so every one had to go. so move back home. for the time being. so i wok full time and go to college two days a week soon to be going 4 days a week. so i do not have a ton of time to work on my car.
anyway i was looking at getting a newer car but do not want to spend a ton of money. I want to spend under 12k or less . I have 3k saved right now and looking to put 1/2 down. i am looking at the scion tc , mazda 3 , and mini cooper s or lancer gts.
or do i put the money into my car and drive it ?
