Free DVD Ripper, Handbrake Not working?

I have tried a few free ones like, Free DVD Ripper etc. I like handbrake, but it worked fine on the first dvd but doesn't seem to like working any more, it will start to encode... but before it get to 1%, it just stops. Does anyone have another idea's of free software i could use? or a reason y handbrake is doing this??
