fuel pump for 1997 gmc jimmy?

im asking because the pump had went and the shop thats working on it wants $1300 for a pump and i thought thats over priced for a fuel pump is that too much for a fule pump
 
you sure it,s the pump and not the relay. the relay is what kicks the pump on.
 
Ask him "in what currency" 'cuz he certainly can't mean Canadian dollars. Way off the mark.
 
That's way to much. You could have your transmission rebuilt for that much. Most shops charge about $500 with a new fuel sending unit. Did the guy that shot you the price have a mask on? What a thief!
