Funny Democracy. Why is it that Americans don't trust the people they elect with

Seriously? We need less lawyers and more business people. 2/3 of Congress has a law degree currently. Never ran a business, just like to make decisions...............that needs to change. Lawyers are smart, but not business smart.

Many friends that have a Law Partners Firm, but they still have never run their own business..........NEVER. And they're thinking about Politics.

The inherent flaw of Democracy...the majority forces it's will on the minority.

your right, lets just go back to eight awesome and fantastic years of bush, forget this new guy who just got here and is trying to help, lets call him a negro and a nazi and hire some losers to attempt to cause random bs riots(which never worked), haha lets go back to the brain dead who was being manipulated by rove and cheney, those were some fun ppl ey, lets just ignore poor black ppl in new orleans, start some random war, raise gas prices up to 5 bucks hehe, and how bout we make deals with pakistan and al qaeda instead of taking up on the oppurtunity the CIA had to assassinate bin laden, lets make deals with them, and then we can praise israel and say mission accomplished, and have the whole world hate us and wanna kill us, yah that was a pretty fun ride : )

Finally, a good question. I think because they abuse our money in order to get elected.

The Constitution of the United States is a document that limits the powers of government in order to guarantee Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness. Liberty is the opposite of government control.

We elect people who swear to uphold the Constitution, not to extend government power into every single aspect of our lives.

The Democrats need to leave my healthcare alone!

I tried to pick "better people" Sadly America decided to elect a man as President simply because he was popular on MTV and Oprah.

I believe that when politicians start out they have the best intentions,as time goes on they need something. It is provided now they are in someones pocket or owe a favor. Before long they are corrupt. We should eliminate lobbyists and should have term limitations.

There are institutional biases making that harder than it seems, but we are trying, some of us.

The problem lies in the options of who to elect. Let's face it, somebody's got to win an election, but i'd trust no candidate with my money.

Well unfortunately a celebrity was elected by gullible people not knowing what he really was.

That's why we were founded as a republic not a democracy. In a democracy 51% of the voters get what they want while 49% of the voters don't and the people who didn't vote still get stuck with something they probably don't like either way which is why they didn't vote.

If the National Government took care of national things.. like common defense, international relations and trade, and left states to take care of laws and civil/social issues that counties can participate in helping form then more people would be happy. And if you weren't happy.. you could move to another state. Central control leads to failure.. which is why democracies always fail after 200 some years.

Some smart old dudes said this once.. I think they founded what will hopefully remain the one of the greatest countries on earth.
