iud

How deep should in put my finger in before I feel the string? Will it be an obvious feel of sting?

I have had my iud for a year. and ever since have been having pains. I can't ever seem to feel the strings or anything when I go to the doctor they say that the strings are really short. but then when my fiance and are having intercourse he says that its stabbing him. are they suppose to be able to stab my partner? Everytime after intercourse I am in pain for about 30 mins. Is it suppose to be like that?

So glad I found this! My husband and I were doing the deed and he said my mirena was poking him so I reached in there (sorry TMI) to find the strings and it just popped right out! I didn't know that could happen...no pain or nothing... maybe my body rejected it?

Cons of Mirena IUD

I just decided to the get Mirena IUD about a month ago, and had it placed about a week and a half ago. I was surprised at how much it hurt to have it placed, during the procedure and the rest of that day I was miserable. It always hurt, and I would cramp from time to time. It just never felt right. A couple days after the IUD was inserted I started my period, and continued to bleed quite heavily for an entire week thereafter. Then one day while I was walking into work I felt like I peed my pants, so I ran to the bathroom. It was blood, I was hemorrhaging like crazy, and blood clots kept coming out of me. I was able to get an appointment with my doctor a couple of hours later. I went in and told him everything that had happened, and about my levels of pain and discomfort. He was a bit condescending, it was irritating. He said patients ideas of heavy blood loss is not always the same as a doctors idea of blood loss, and that I was probably fine. But, just to be on the safe side he checked me. To his surprise, my IUD had slipped out and was lodged in my cervix, which caused massive amounts of bleeding and discomfort. He finally admitted I was right about the heavy blood loss and removed the IUD the rest of the way. I would never get an IUD in again. It is a form of birth control, the only problem is I never felt good enough to even have sexual intercourse while the IUD was inside me. A waste of my time and money and blood.

Hi everyone!
I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere, but how do I know if the mirena is coming out?
I had it fitted yesterday afternoon, the doctor told me that in 6 weeks they'll check for resistance when my cervix is pressed to see if the mirena's falling out.. I was just checking because I'm a bit of a worrier but I'm not sure what this resistance is supposed to feel like as I've never felt my cervix without the mirena in place :/... could someone tell me? Also, is it possible that I could have pushed it out of place while checking? Thank you!

My mirena fell out

I previously had the copper one, i had it incerted after my daughter in 2004. After 3 yrs of it being in a found myself pregnant while the copper iud was still in. My doctor said to leave it in and wait to have it out until the baby was strong. I freaked, i said i was not planning on another kid, especially since i alreasdy have 3. So she pulled out the copper one. Even after that, i continued to stay pregnent for several weeks, so i had to go take care of it. Sad to say but yes i did it. I couldn't afford to have no more kids and i was too busy and too much going on for me to have a fourth child.
After that incident about a month later in Nov 2007,i put in the second iud, the Mirena. Last friday while having sex with my partner, he complained something was poking and hurting him. Sure enpough i checked and there was my mirena floating around. I pulled it out. I had had bad craps before and my breast were sore, but i guess i had gotten so use to the cramps i didn't think much this time.
Now i am contemplating if i should get another one or not. To be honest i think in some ways those iud's are good because they work for a while and i have manage to no get pregnant that often, because i am extremely fertil. Now on the other had, they are bad. They make me super moody, i am always stress and my sex drive is completely gone. I do it just to please my man, but it is a horrible feeling. Even since i started the mirena my stress levels have been super high, i am alwyas feeling sad and i do not care for sex at all.
I think i am waiting at least 6 months this time to see how my body reacts and if these side effects go away. If i see some improvements i am not puttin it back in. I want to be happy and keep my man happy and I guessI will have to be extra carefull from now on.

My Mirena fell out when I wiped after just 6 months of having it in.

Well, I had my Mirena put in about 6 months ago. I have had severe headaches and lots of back pain. Today I was having really bad back pain and low abdominal pain. I was cramping but no sign of my period. Next thing you know I am feeling like I need to pee like every 5 minutes, then I just tell myself, take some meds, and go pee and then go to bed. I went to go pee and wipe and low and behold..... there is my Mirena on the toilet paper!!!! Holy moly. It didn't even look like it had been inserted right because it was all clean and like it hadn't touched or been near anything(TMI I know). I am going to my doc tomorrow to get checked out.

I had my mirena placed the end of June. Well, low and behold, it reappeared last night. I have no idea how it came out, but it did. Going to the MD tomorrow to get another one. I can hardly wait! That was so painful the first time. Might need some valium on board before this one. LOL

My Mirena Fell Out

I had my mirena for a year eight months and it fell out on August 29 while in bed wih my boyfriend. I am not sure how it fell out, but I felt something polking me from inside and I thought that it was just a little cramp bu he felt the strings hanging out so my boyfriend pulled it the rest of the way out. I am not sure what I am supposed to do. I am still a little scared about what if I am pregant now. I have a son already and I am not ready for another child, I would enjoy it but not now.

My IUD is falling out! I just happened to check it in the bath and noticed the strings were longer than normal. So I checked it again while I was on the toilet and I could feel the plastic part on the IUD. ahhh not good. I've had the IUD in for about 5 months and it really hasn't been that bad. But this past month I've have a period for like 3 weeks, it's light but never ending and the cramps have been pretty bad. They were bad pelvic cramps and I'm hoping I caught it in time that I'm not pregnant. I'm going to check again in the morning and see if it will just fall out... otherwise its off to the doctors I go! Oh and I've been told that IUDs are more likely to fall out if you haven't had kids yet. Which is the category I fall into. Also if any of you are wondering I have the Paragard.

I had my IUD (Mirena) inserted in April of 2008 and I've had nothing but problems ever since it was placed. Instead of having irregular periods which is what I was having before I received Mirena, I had two a month that lasted seven days each. I had severe cramping & sharp pains that would shoot all the way down through my rectum. I often felt moody, light-headed & had frequent heachaches. I discussed it with my ob/gyn & she said Mirena isn't for everyone & I should have it removed, but for the fear of getting pregnant, I left it in for two & a half years. So I had an appointment today with her & she said she couldn't feel the strings. So they send me to the radiology unit & order an ultrasound. So the ultrasound is done & they call my doctor who then calls me while I'm sitting in the waiting room & come to find out the stupid thing had fallen out unnoticed. I'm not sure when. For all I know it could've been two & a half years ago. I will definitely not get another IUD.......EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

When the new store opens, you can imagine the lines - lines WOW Gold of customers standing there waiting for the doors will open, elbow each other and say Buy WOW Gold, "I have this WOW Power Leveling happen!" What a kick for the customers! Next up: a video competition, which ends today, describe where Final Fantasy gil customers 20-second Aion Gold videos, why their city should leave the new Dick's can get. He knew it was intensely loyal Aion Leveling patrons. Now it is them in a way it has for years been engaged not to ask just one question. By simply saying: "I care about your opinion."
