I am 13 and my brirthday is coming up soon. I have been wanting a cell phone since I began middle school last year, I once had a phone but abused it and my parents don't seem to realize that I am more mature now then I was then. I am the olnl kid at my school that doesn't hav a cell phone and it is embarrasing when my friends ask for my number and I tell them I don't have a cell phone, they go "oh" and exclude me frm whatever it is they are doing. whenever I have a sleepover my fronds bring their phones and text people all night, I feel like poop, I am excluded in my own home, when I go out with my parents I see kids younger than me with phones. I also need my own cell phone because I go out with my friends and go out without my parents, often my mom gives me her phone but what if I don't have her phone in an emergency? I do so much for my parents, I babysit my sister, and I am pretty much their maid, I clean pretty much everything in my house.I live with my mom and step dad..and visit my real dad every other weekend, it is odd, my mom and dad hate each other and my mom expects me to hate my dad and my dad expects me to hat my mom, if I had a phone I would be able to keep in touch with my friends back home, when I ask my dad if I can call my friends frm his cell or home he says no...if I ahd y own cell I wouldn't need to do this, my mom and stepdad say they won't get me a phone until I can pay for it, I am at the age where I can get a job babysitting or somthing, butthey won't let me because I have to babysit my sister and be their maid, and they treat me like poop, blaming me o stuff my little brother did, or yelling at me over something sttupid like Turing off the computer....please help me it is embarrasing not having a cell phone and I feel that I need one, all that I would want is talk and txt, I dot care if they set a limit as long as 1) it is reasonable and 2) I get to choose my phone....also I wouldlike to mention that my freind, whose family gets food stamps and is at risk of losing their home, has a cell phone. please, if you have suggestions that helped you get a phone please reccomend them, I would really appriciate it, and I do not beg my parents, I only ask my dada though because he doesn't do much for me and my mom and stepdad do even tho they. oftne treat me like poop.....I don't beg I just calmly and kindly ask my dad and explain why before he can say anything then let him talk and when he says no I just calmly say "okay, I understand" and deal with my sadness later. please help me. thank you so much!!
