How can I export my i-tunes files onto windows media player?

I tried exporting my i-tunes library onto my music and then importing it to media player but it just said it found 2000 something files and didn't transfer any of them. if this isn't possible what i want is to play my music on my xbox and it's synced to media player but none of my songs are there. when i hook up my ipod and i downloaded the optional media update, i can't play any songs i downloaded from i-tunes, just the ones that i have the physical cds of, if you can solve this i would be really appreciative.
