How can I get my Motorola RAZR2 to charge using a generic phone charger?

my RAZR 2 is almost dead and i went out and bought a generic charger tonight and it won't work... what can i do?!

bring it back to where ever you got it, (bring your phone too) and get a new one and make sure it works before you leve the store
