How come the church wanted to get rid of the power of the pagan religions?

Well I'm guessing because Christianity and Paganism are complete opposites. You can't believe in both. Another thing is that its much easier to control people if they all believe the same things. I'm not sure about the other person's question, but not all women were meant to be killed. It was mainly midwives that were seen as witches because they used different medicines and techniques than male doctors. I also don't know why any man would be against a woman being seductive or whatever. Women have to be usually to attract a guy and vice versa. Basically a lot of people were stupid back then and in a lot of places things have change because people have learned from previous people's mistakes. There are still places were people are afraid of change(or afraid to create change) and afraid to admit they are doing things the wrong way. So that's my answer. I wouldn't put to much thought into it. Both religions will be around for a whole lot longer. Oh and in my opinion, both men and women are equal. You can't have one without the other. Both create the baby. Man plants his seed and the woman grows it. :)
