I need a little help!
a. What are the fitness values for the 3 genotypes if the selection coefficients are S(aa)=0.90 and S(Aa)=0.10.
I calculated my fitness values to be W(AA)=1, W(Aa)=0.90, and W(aa)=0.10 using the formula W=1-S.
Is this right?
b. Assuming these are correct, if the population is in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, what is the average fitness for the population if p=0.65?
c. If the allele frequency changes due to selection so that after 10 generations p=0.75, what will be the new average fitness?
I have done well on everything in this class, my professor was just a little vague when explaining this. Any help or step by steps would be greatly appreciated!
