I have a wgr614v7 wireless-g netgear router and it is all connected to the modem properly, but it doesn't give me internet. I either use the cd it came with or go to routerlogin.com and I choose the router to help me configure it. Then it tells me I have a PPPoE. So I type in all of my login details and wiat like a minute to load then it says error occured we couldn't reach your internet. I have windows vista. Do I have to turn something on on the the tool bar or contral panel before I configure it.

Call your ISP and have them guide you to set up your computer without your router first. Make sure the modem works.

If the modem does not log itself in like a routing modem, then the router will perform this. However, if your modem is a routing modem, then the router does NOT need to log in. Make sure you know which you have.

Once you know that the modem works and what type you have, you can always call the maker of the router and ask them what you are doing wrong.

Based on your description of problem, I think one of two things happened:

1 - your modem doesn't work so logging in from router impossible
2 - your modem logs in by itself which prevents router made login attempts fail.
