How do I get the music player off the screen of my samsung solstice?

I just got a samsung solstice which is an awesome phone....all except for the part where I cant seem to hide the music player or get it off of the main screen! It's getting really irritating, It sounds dumb but I would like if this $300.00 phone could have a clean looking wallpaper and display! without that little music player box! It blocks the view of the wall paper. Any help is appreciated thanks!
