How do I hook my Xbox 630 up to wireless internet?

I have a lynksis wireless adapter, there is a lynksis box in the house but it's a USB plug. Will that even go in my Xbox, or will I need an Ethernet cord. And if not, does my wireless adapter have to be the one made by Microsoft in order to work?
