My htib (blu ray) has only one hdmi port and i have that going into the tv... So is there anyway that i can get my 360 to play over the surround sound speakers? I've tried connecting the 360 component cables to the blu ray player, but it did not work. Any ideas?
It does have an optical. So even though The 360 is not hooked directly into the hts it will still work?
Second answer: did not work

Most home theater in a box are not flexible for adding anything or for upgrading. Check the system you have and see if it has an optical audio input. If the system has one then you can connect your XBOX directly to the tv using HDMI cable and then connect an optical audio cable from the tv to the home theater. IF not then you are not going to be able to connect the XBOX to the system. Hope this will help you out.

Connect HDMI from Xbox to TV for video then optical cable from Xbox to Home Theater System for audio.
